The app utilizes GPS technology to automatically identify the user’s location when photos or videos are taken, establishing a designated radius around that spot. This process results in the creation of a location folder, which is identified either by its address, coordinates (latitude/longitude), or a user-defined name. Any media captured within this radius is automatically stored within the respective location folder.

Moreover, these location folders are not confined to the mobile device; they are also backed up in the cloud, ensuring access from any device at any time. Users can simply log in to the FlatZap web portal for instant retrieval of their media.

Collaboration is another key feature of FlatZap. Users can invite others to access and contribute to their location folders, facilitating a shared space for viewing and adding photos or videos pertinent to a specific location. This communal aspect of location-based folders fosters creative collaboration and the exchange of ideas or concepts tied to a physical place.

The FlatZap app is available for free download and use. Additionally, there are Personal Pro and Business plan subscriptions that provide expanded storage options ranging from 10 GB to 100 GB, priced at $3.99 per month and $5.99 per month, respectively. These subscriptions renew automatically each month and charges will be applied to your iTunes account within 24 hours of the current period's end unless auto-renew is disabled at least 24 hours in advance. Users retain the option to turn off auto-renewal at any time through their iTunes account settings; however, it should be noted that refunds for any unused portion of the term will not be issued. Pricing may vary for users outside the United States and may be converted to local currency based on residency.
